Mostotrest to build Dream Island bridge in Moscow
In accordance with a newly signed contract, Mostotrest will build a bridge to link Dream Island, an amusement park under construction, and 2nd Yuzhnoportovy Proezd.
Covering approximately 100 hectares (c. 25 football fields), the Dream Island Amusement Park is expected to open in Nagatinskaya Poima in southern Moscow as early as in 2019. It will be one of the world's largest amusement parks with a nature preserve, including lakes, a hotel, a children's yachting school, restaurants and shops.
As part of the project, Mostotrest will build a complex of engineered structures, including two exit ramps and a bridge over the Kozhukhovsky Backwater of the Moscow River. The new bridge will create public (one lane in each direction) and general use (two lanes in each direction) transport links, and will become part of a new main city street. The length of the main superstructure of the new bridge (150 m) is in line with the Moscow Canal underclearance requirement. In addition, the project envisions expansion of the existing city road network in the area. According to the designing requirement specification, the width of pedestrian walkways in the area will be 3 m, due to the park’s expected daily attendance of up to 50,000 visitors, including visitors with reduced mobility.
Construction of the new bridge is scheduled for completion by October 2019. The project customer is Organizator LLC. The contract value is RUB3.706 billion (including VAT).
