Opening to Traffic of Northwest Throughway Southern Segment Stage 4 in Moscow (2013-2015)
The new segment of the Northwest Throughway is a major project built by Mostotrest in a record 17 months. Commissioning of the segment has significantly improved the transport situation in the surrounding area of Moscow and provided direct access from Skolkovskoye Avenue to Mozhaiskoye Avenue, the MRR and Troyekurovski Proezd, while increasing traffic throughput capacity of Vyazemskaya, Vitebskaya and Ryabinovaya streets by an average of 25-30%. The new interchange has enabled motorists to access Ryabinovaya Street and proceed onto Michyurinski Prospekt directly from Vyazemskaya, Vitebskaya and Ryabinovaya streets, bypassing the MRR.
As part of the project, Mostotrest has built a split-level interchange at the intersection of Skolkovskoye Avenue, Vitebskaya Street and Vyazemskaya Street, an exit from Skolkovskoye Avenue toward Mozhaiskoye Avenue, a bridge over the Setun River, a U-turn flyover on the side of Ryabinovaya Street after the bridge, as well as widened the driveway of Vitebskaya Street.
